Welcome to the Online Newsroom for ICRS 2012. This portal will provide news releases, updates, and relevant logistical information for members of the press covering the meeting.

NEWSROOM INFORMATION

ICRS 2012 will provide a newsroom for journalists covering the meeting. The newsroom will be located in the main meeting venue, and will offer a variety of resources and services.

EMBARGOED NEWS BRIEFINGS

Daily briefings will highlight key research results and presentations of the day, and will feature prominent researchers discussing their work. These sessions will be followed by opportunities for interviews with leaders in the field of reef science and management. Attendance is restricted to registered press. A full schedule of news briefings will be available online via the ICRS Meeting virtual Newsroom, and embargoed press releases will be available on EurekAlert! beginning Wednesday July 4 2012. All press registrants will receive a complete schedule upon arrival. Please note: All registered press are required to observe embargoes, which will lift at either the time of the scientific session or related news briefing, whichever comes first.

LIBRARY

Newsroom registrants will have access to copies of speaker presentations and background materials, and past publications. Embargoed news releases will be available on-site, and also in advance via EurekAlert!.

PRIVATE INTERVIEW ROOMS

Broadcast outlets requesting private workspace should contact the secretariat, info@icrs2010.com.

REGISTRATION

Newsroom attendees are strongly encouraged to register in advance, but you also can register on-site, with appropriate credentials and photo ID. Please carefully review our criteria for press credentials and newsroom registration. Newsroom registration is limited to working members of the press, freelance writers, and Public Information Officers for academic institutions. For these individuals, no conference registration fee is charged. Registration Opens 1 August 2011.

NEWSROOM ACCESS

Press badges provide access to ICRS news briefings, exhibits, presentations, and the general newsroom area. No visitors or family members are permitted inside the newsroom.

To pick up a press badge, all registrants must present valid photo identification. For security reasons, registrants without proper identification will not be admitted. Each registrant must pick up his or her own credentials.

Those with newsroom credentials shall not engage in publicity or promotional efforts in the newsroom work area (beyond providing materials for scheduled press briefings or placing brochures on the tables provided). Violations will result in revocation of credentials.
